“Life’s not about how hard of a hit you can give…
It’s about how many you can take, and still keep
moving forward.” ― Rocky Balboa
WHO WE ARE
The Moe123 Scholarship Fund was created in honor of our brother, Mostafa "Moe" Sarim, who passed away tragically and unexpectedly due to complications from the flu on January 23, 2018, at only 41 years old.
Mostafa grew up in Brooklyn Center, Minn. and attended Fair Oaks Elementary, North View Junior High, and Park Center Senior High School. He went on to earn his Bachelor's from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 1998.
Among Mostafa’s many hobbies, education and school were always at the top. He once wrote a paper in grade school expressing that school was easy. Why? Because there wasn’t nearly enough homework and classroom time was too short!
His thirst for learning and knowledge was undeniable. We recently found his grade school essay, not knowing that he had kept it for 30 years.
All Mostafa wanted was to continue his education. It is because of this and with great honor that we have created the Moe123 Scholarship Fund.
It is our hope that this fund will ensure that we keep Mostafa’s memory alive through helping passionate, like-minded students make the world a better place – just like Mostafa did.
We will be dedicating the date of January 23 and will have a yearly gathering of friends, families, and supporters to present this scholarship to several, well-deserved young adults in his honor.
Join us in celebrating. We ask that you help with any donation you can make toward a wonderful cause in the name of Mostafa and the journey of our community's scholars.
